The place is decorated in a neat style with lots of old pictures of the Beatles and other old music legends from that era. There was Beatles music playing in the background. The place would get a five star ratings for decorations! The prices on everything were pretty expensive. The single scoop in a cup was $3.40. Some of the other items offered there are on that same sort of inflated scale. The Gentleman that owns the place didnt smile once or even greet us when we walked in. We were his only customers while we were there. There was no small talk exchanged or anything. Just a simple thank you from him after we paid. Cool place but we probably wont be going back.

This place is terrible. I wouldnt leave any star if I didnt have to. The man behind the counter was washing the sink the whole time we were in there and would not acknowledge us. When we got his attention and asked if he was open (after considerable time for four people to look at all the ice cream and decide which ones to get) he rudely asked us if it looked like he was open. He said he doesnt "brown nose" customers like other places. Needless to say we left without trying anything and will never go back.

This place is GREAT. It is the neatest nook I have ever been to. Even if you arent a fan of ice cream, take someone who does and check this place out. The walls are COVERED in awesome antique music albums and posters and old books . Totally a Beatles vibe. and organic ice cream. in a gazillion wierd but very tasty flavors. My favorite is the pumpkin pie ice cream but thats because its got a weird pumpkiny-zing to it and its not heavy but a bit on the sweet light side. Seriously, so worth the effort.

Went there with my GF. The place was dirty the owner seemed tweaked out of his mind. Did not greet us or really even acknowledge that we desisted. Tried getting his attention several times but he was in his own drugged out world. By the time we ordered the ice cream we felt like we might get murdered in this place. We left in a hurry with our expensive single scoop ice cream. When I started eating it was freezer burned and gross. We tossed out the ice cream. I never leave yelp reviews.... ever.

Ice cream was mediocre at best, the music was way too loud, the guy behind the counter looked like he was on drugs and showed very little interest in customers; the place was very unkempt, in disarray behind the counter, and dirty overall. If youre in to 60 music though, it would be an interesting shop to browse, but I will never be going back nor recommend it, ever. I regretted ever going in and was so concerned about the cleanliness overall I threw away my ice cream.

"Nice place, Expensive, and Poor Service" . . . but that why we go there . . . The Ice Cream Shoppe is like a good Scotch: Its a acquired taste . . . . If you want a factory produced just-like-the-rest ice cream, this is certainly not for you. The owner-operator makes his own ice treats, and has lovingly decorated the the walls with copious copies of 50-70 pop-culture. Enjoy your ice cream and study the walls . . . its a fun cultural experience.

You wont find a more unique place or one with better ice cream! It is all made from real natural products and is rich and creamy. The atmosphere is nothing but fun for adults and children. Lots of Beatles memorabilia that is fun to look at and nostalgic. Then there is the pinball machine, the horse and the gum ball machile with the Rube Goldberg path. ree Wifi, too. Never a dull moment here! I come back often. Its open lte at night.

The best ice cream in the Monterey Area and The Best Coffee. The owner makes his own cones using old style cone makers and organic self-made batter. Store is filled with an impressive collection of Beatles memorabilia, an awesome Elvis pinball machine and other fun treats. A must for all who enjoy the art of ice cream and coffee. Very child friendly place...

This was a great place some time ago. I first went there in about 1988. Even more when I bought a second home in PG in 1992. It was a great place for both locals and tourists. But has been no good for some years; poor service mostly. Hostile environment. And now; they are badmouthing the military. Stay away from this place; the owner is a politcal nut.

Horrible customer service, was looking for ice cream he went away for while we waited, then came back and rolled his eyes and asked what we wanted, then went away again and was gone away for a long period of time and never came back so we left and right behind us he slammed the door, it was an hour before they closed. Unkempt and dirty not impressed.

Im all for interesting local spots, but avoid this one. The ice cream was mediocre and freezer burned. The staff was disinterested. The decor seemed charming at first, but got creepier the longer you looked. The owner is clearly a Beatles-obsessed germaphobe. We wished wed gone to Baskin Robbins, and we dont really like Baskin Robbins.

Super funky, acid-trip decor that music lovers like myself will appreciate. We enjoyed the ice cream... until I saw the owner sample several flavors with the same ice cream scooper - placing the scooper into the barrels, then into his mouth, and then back in the barrels. I was a bit horrified. Buyer beware.

Great ice cream, I got the pistachio and its the best pistachio Ive had. It has real chunks of pistachio in it. This place has a lot of character, its covered floor to ceiling with The Beetles and other old records. They do not take card but theres an ATM across the street.

Decor and cleanliness were a little off, but they have a wide variety of flavors. The peppermint with fudge swirl was a disappointment- really no peppermint flavor. But the Kona coffee was incredible. The best coffee ice cream ever!!!!!

Supper fun, funky, and colorful ambiance and music. It felt like a trip to the 60s - 70s. The proprietor is an ice cream shop version of Seinfelds "Soup Nazi," somehow adding to the unique character and charm of this establishment.

Really cool ice cream joint with a unique aesthetic (completely Beatles (the band) related). Great selection too. Its worth checking out at least once if you are in the neighborhood.

The girl working the night we stopped by was cooky and fun. Go somewhere else if you want boring. This is why you come to beach towns. Great locals and great local businesses.

The ice cream had a weird taste (possibly freezer burn). The service was friendly, but if youre an ice cream shop and your ice cream isnt good, whats the point?

To be sure its unique but its not unique enough (or good enough) to make up for the general weird vibe and the fact that its Kind of dirty inside
