Everyone knows you only go here for the margaritas, not the food. However, when I went last night I ordered a house margarita, the same as I had a couple weeks ago, but this time it came with a mix tasting a whole lot like Jose Cuervo. Surprised, especially because on the menu it claimed it used fresh lime juice like every other margarita, I asked a passing waitress if something changed and they started using a mix for the house marg instead. She said yes, very aggressively and "you asked for the cheapest one, so thats what we do". Oh well, I thought. But when my waitress came back and asked how my marg was, I told her I was disappointed they started using a mix. Then, she said they didnt, contrary to the other waitress who said they had started to. So who was lying? But I could tell my waitress was really annoyed, which she displayed excellently. Regardless, she asked me if I wanted another. I hadnt planned on it, but thought that since she asked it wouldnt be a problem so I decided to get the "staff favorite" the fruit loop. When it arrived, it wasnt even in a margarita glass but a normal tumbler, much smaller than the grande size I paid for. Also, it was literally disgusting. If it had lime juice at all, I couldnt taste it. By whole table agreed upon this. And, by the time I finished it, I barely felt buzzed, quite different from the last time I had the grande size at The Loop. I dont know what the situation was behind the scenes, but there was plenty of dishonesty, extremely pissy, unprofessional customer service, and way too much money being asked for a drink I would never finish if I had made it myself. I will not be returning.

We requested a window seat. I like the little table that sat us at. Until I realized they have these margarita glasses as decoration sitting in the window sill right next to my body. No one has checked these in a while. dead bugs in them. That was bad enough. Then I realize, right out side our window is one of those cigarette towers. Right next to me on the other side of the glass. So while I am eating, about 20 people stand there smoking and throwing away their cigarettes. I was thinking really? Why doesnt someone move that away from the restaurant? It was just gross. The carpets were dirty. I found the prices to be pretty high for the quality of food. I dont mind spending too much for mexican food, but at least put your profits into cleaning, remodeling etc. The bathrooms are old and falling apart etc. As I was looking around, I noticed they even have stereo wires or something duct taped to the walls. Come on now. Really just needs to be cleaned up in general. I was going to have a margarita until I saw 10.00 average price for a pretty regular marg. Just overall, over priced, a little dingy environment. My son and I had mediocre, small plates of food, no beverages, and with tip we were still at 30.00. That is quite a bit considering what we had. :( Wont be back

Besides the utter lack of parking in Manitou Springs and despite having lots of tables, there always seems to be a wait. The margaritas, for which theyre famous, are okay. I guess Im spoiled because my husband makes the best margaritas in the world (or at least, that Ive had). Service was pretty awful. We could only eat half of our queso (which isnt very good) because no one brought us any more chips. Our water glasses never got refilled, which was problematic, since one of us ordered the Burrito from Hell, which has lots of habenero in it. I had to flag down our waitress from across the room just to get a beer. We would have more beer, but she never came back. Also, the prices have risen since they posted their menu online, so watch out for that. All that said, the macho combo burrito is the best burrito Ive had in Colorado. Wed definitely go back for that. When we got home, I had my husband make me a margarita.

The food was good & it came out fast but the waitress had a bad attitude from the beginning. Walked in about 9:10 and they dont close until 10pm. I mentioned to my husband that the customer service has never been good here and I tell my self every time that I wont be coming back because of that reason but just happen to be in the area. As we where waiting a family of 7 walked in at 9:30 and I no it was 9:30 because I looked again the staff was very rude and did not even acknowledge them after they sat down. Im not sure if they were asked to leave but they did not stay and requested a manager, there was not a manager available to talk to. I personally think it was very bad business and have worked in food & customer service for 22 years and thing every time I come here what bad customer service this place has. I truly think it will bwork my last time coming here. I can eat not so good food only if I like the people.

Service sucks. Not only do they not consistently give you orders in the way you order them, but yet dont even know which condiments come with meals. They argue with customers about things that are on the menu. The server we had looked like a 60 something year old first time server that knew nothing about their food specials or drink specials, let alone how to give proper customer service in the food industry. She even reached across our table over us to grab the drink menu to answer questions we could have figured out on our own with same menu. The manager did not care that we ate our entire meal without ever being asked how the food was or if we needed anything. At the end of our over priced experience the only decent person that worked there was the bus boy Josiah. The only reason this place is getting a 2 star is because Josiah deserves a star all for himself.

Without doubt, one of The poorest "Mexican" restaurants I have visited, to date. They might make great drinks, but I went there to eat, and the food was very poor. I had the crab and shrimp enchilada (which I notice one other person extolled the virtues of) and for gods sake, they used crab sticks! The sauce was a gelatinous mess with very little flavour and basically, it sucked. This choice was after I sent back my first choice off their menu of Carnitas. They came up dry and overlooked and also, hardly authentic. Carnitas are large, deep-fried chunks of pork. What the loop served were slices of overdone pork loin. If you want a drink, then their drinks might fill your bill, but if you want decent, reasonably priced Mexican food, find somewhere else!

I ordered a taco salad with rice instead of beans, my husband ordered the pikes peak burger. Stay far away from these dishes if you value your taste buds. His burger was made with half cooked, frozen patties. (He is a butcher so this drove him bananas) and his potato wedges were straight from a bag. My rice was cold and honestly seemed more like fried rice from Chinese places, ya know, from a bag and just steamed to serve. Typically crap places dont bother me because they usually have crap prices. We spent 47$ on food that we couldnt even eat, and when our waitress noticed that we werent eating, she just copped an attitude with my husband. Definitely dont plan on coming back, which is a bummer because we love Mexican and Manitou.
