Was recommended to visit this place by a friend, who had a wonderful experience this past summer. We were in town on a shopping trip from Vancouver, BC and decided to check it out. Unfortunately, we were greatly disappointed. As we entered (it was a Tuesday afternoon), we noticed it was not very busy. We waited for 5 minutes to get someone to notice us. There were some waitstaff chatting by the bar area. One looked right at us and looked away. We thought that they were possibly having a meeting, so we let that slide. After we were quickly seated (without even a hello) and had our menus, it took another 15 minutes (no lie) for the waiter to come to our table. The other two tables were receiving excellent service, and even another couple had arrived and were (shockingly) welcomed/greeted after we were seated. After trying to get the waitstaffs attention multiple times (they looked at us and looked away). We finally ordered and enjoyed the meal together despite the awful service. We noticed that we were the only couple seated that were not Caucasian. Sadly, this appeared to be another racist establishment. We were disappointed that this was the second time we were treated poorly at a restaurant on this trip. We disliked the waitstaff that could have made dining there a pleasant experience.

On Friday night, I enjoyed my birthday in the company of a dozen friends. We had made reservations at another French restaurant in town, but the details got too complicated. So we dediced on our old favorite, Le Pichet, and we are so glad we did. The service was warm and helpful without being too buddy-buddy. They went above and beyond to acknowledge my birthday by bringing out a chocolat chaud dessert and some whipped cream with a candle. It was kind of them, since I know thats not the normal vibe they like to send off. The food was truly amazing. We started with the Assiette de Charcuterie; an assortment of cured meats, pate and liver. This was fresh and flavorful. We also had a selection of French cheeses that were unique and wonderful. Then I ordered the Salade de Verte; a green salad with hazelnuts and a vinaigrette dressing. Fresh as can be. Then for the main course, I had the Tartare de Boeuf, a raw beef dish with crustinis and an arugula salad. It had capers and a spicy finish that made it really pop. The combination of chic and down-to-earth decor, warm service and excellent authentic French food was perfect for celebrating a birthday with close friends.

Loved my unique meal here at Le Pichet! It was a spontaneous dinner find and we left very happy. BEEF RIB BONES ($12) Woooow, //drooool. Came neatly stacked on top of each other, the 3 rib bones were slow simmered, breaded and fried before making its way to your table. Theres not a ton of meat but the texture and flavors of the skin packs quite a punch. Never had anything like this before and it was delicious. OPEN-FACED SANDIWCH ($7) You get to choose a cold cooked meat from the charcuterie board. Got the pressed beef tongue and yum! It was almost like a pate spread but just meaty enough to stay intact and give you a chance to bite it apart. It was delicious; the mustard and cute little pickles complimented very well. FRIES ($6) Not listed on the menu. Very good and came in a generous amount. Texture hinted that it may be double-fried, in a good way as it was soft and crisp at the same time. Le Pichet was one of the highlights of my weekend in Seattle. Its right by Pike Place and is very affordable too. Will return for this next time Im in Seattle.

The amuse bouche was a house made buckwheat cracker with white bean paste garnished with caramelized onions. It was bland, except for the onion, and the cracker was very hard. I was disappointed by the poor start but not surprised because this restaurant is located in a very touristy area. But I was pleasantly thrilled with my pan seared white fish with a buttery carrot puree with herbed gnocchi and wilted spinach and grilled leeks. The fish was well seasoned and crispy, the soft gnocchi complemented the sweet carrot puree on the bottom, and each bite was a joy. My partner ordered the house smoked black cod with pickled vegetables and toasted rye bread. The dish is served cold and the cod was lightly smoked and silky, which went nicely the sweet pickled vegetables. For dessert, we shared mini beignets with a side of lemon cream and candied lemon peel. The beignets were dense, but not too heavy, and the cream was light and addictive.

Very cute tiny place that looked welcoming and authentic, so as Francophiles we were optimistic despite the noise level (7:15 on a Thursday.) Limited menu and the 4 of us all like fish so 3 of us ordered the skate (reg menu item). Waiter comes back to say sorry there are only 2 portions available... Ok I order the tuna and tell him to please make it medium to medium rare. A few minutes later someone else appears-- now theres actually only ONE portion of skate. So my husband gets sole as a substitute. When the food arrives, it is lukewarm and my tuna is nearly raw as well as accompanied by severely undercooked/ barely edible potatoes. The sole is moderately better though tepid. My friends vegetable special is bland and buried in cream sauce. All in all, a really terrible meal and clearly a kitchen that doesnt know how to plan. portions ledt.

So my gf and I walked into this little place. We found ourselves some seats by the bar. I dont know is it because we are asians, we didnt have any waitress talking to us for 5 minutes. They just looked at us and turn their back on us. The white couple came in 5 mins after us were greeted by the waitress. (For Fs sake, one of the waitress is an asian) Also, when the waitress picked up our checks and plates, they didnt say anything to us, they just took whatever is right in front of us without saying anything. I found that extremely rude. But one of the bartender was nice and checked on us. I wouldnt give them a dime for tips if it wasnt for him. Other than the horrible experience with rude waitress, the food is great, the atmosphere is great, and the bartender is great.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. First they lost my reservation, and made no gesture toward apologizing nor taking responsibility for seating me. Then when I asked to sit at the bar, they claimed that it was full, even though there were two empty spots together. First the barman claimed the seats were being held for "friends of people already sitting at the bar," then when I asked the couple sitting there, they said that was not true. When I pressed the barman again, he claimed the couple was "parking their car" - since when does a restaurant reserve bar seats? I know they do not. They had also laid out menus in the pretense that people were sitting there. All in all, a shockingly amateurish experience. I went to Campagna instead which was wonderful!

This little jewel of a French place in downtown Seattle, not far from Pikes Place market. On this visit, I wanted a simple lunch. The waitress was very helpful in selecting a charcuterie plate. I had 3 different types of terrine including Foie Gras. The plate came with a crusty baguette and some sweet butter. Everything was delicious. The interior is lovely and includes small tables that can accommodate 2 to 4 guests. I choose to sit outside and enjoy the summer day. Street noise can be a problem, especially with construction just around the corner. My only complaint is that wine was heavily suggested multiple times, even after a polite decline. Other than that, I would say this place is worth a visit, especially if looking for something different and memorable.
