This afternoon our family had no clue where to eat and we finally decided that we hadnt gone to a traditional Mexican Restaurant for a long time, so we decided on trying out La Bamba, which we see on a daily basis driving back and forth on High Point Road. Like quite a few good restaurants in Greensboro, it doesnt look like much on the outside, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful interior with nice, warm lighting that made the whole experience very comfortable. The tables, seats, and menus are high quality and completely fit the Mexican theme. The staff were very quick to get us to our seats, take our order, and to get us our orders, all looking very professional. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................ The one thing I wish was changed was the waitress, when we asked to have some time to consider what we wanted out of the huge menu, she kept coming back within a minute or two when, clearly, none of us were ready. This wouldnt matter at all except that when we told her wed need more time, she looked kind of mad and walked off without a word. I noticed another poster mentioned a waitress that served him every Sunday (the day I went) that was like this, and I think I got the same one. She seemed very unfriendly and/or unhappy, not once smiling, just giving an emotionless face that made me feel like I was doing something wrong. However, the other waiters and waitresses that interacted with us were friendly and frequently asked us if we needed anything, so Im sure its a problem with just that one waitress, I would post her first name, but none of the staff had name tags on. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................ The food was amazing, exactly what youd expect and the prices are great. When we went, they had a deal that any lunch menu meal (approx. 20 to choose from) is only $5 with a drink when the original prices ranged from $4.50 to $7.00 and drinks are usually $1.50. Everything I tried (we sampled eachothers dishes) tasted spectacular. The menu is enormous, even the lunch special list was so big, it took me at least 10 minutes to decide on what to get, I didnt even want to think about the other things I might want off the rest of the menu. Theres a big list of mixed drinks and beers to choose from, but the variety of soft drinks is a bit lacking. They do have Diet Coke, Dr Pepper, and Sprite, but they dont have Mellow Yellow or Vault as I would expect, but I can deal with it. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................ My boyfriend and I went to this place for the first time and I had a horrible experience. The waitress was totally rude to me. We were ready to order and I was going to go first. She completely cut me off and said “him first". Proceeded to take his order and leans down close to him to look over his shoulder to see what he was talking about, then freakin walks away. I was so confused thinking did she get my order?? Then the food comes out and its only one entree >:| my boyfriend asks wheres my food and they send her back to our table to take my order. But he ordered the wrong thing. At this point Im just done. I eat the food but am pissed the whole time. Not only did she completely overlook me, she tried to flirt with my boyfriend. Guess she thought he was leaving the tip. Well she thought wrong. Never again will we step foot in that place because of that server who gave me a terrible experience. She needs to learn to be respectful to customers and smile more.

Ive been eating here since I moved to Greensboro in 2004. I love this arroz con pollo, but have tried other dishes and never been disappointed. Their wait staff has changed over the years. There is a man and a woman server still there who we love! They are awesome! They are fast, kind, and attentive. They are the ONLY two I want waiting on me and my family. Theyve recently done new hiring over the year. Weve seen servers come and go. They have some new women servers who need a lot more training, or do not need to work here at all! They do not remember what you ask for. One girl tried to justify why our salsa bowl was dirty and that it was okay because it was something that fell off her hand into the bowl. How about just say Im sorry and bring us a clean bowl??? Both my husband and myself have worked in the restaurant business and would never act like that to a customer! Other than that, we love this place.

I wont be going back anymore and its a shame because the food here is SUPERB. I even order take out always but the incompetent wait staff can NEVER get it right. Ive had my orders remade for a great record of 2 for 2 of getting it wrong and this last time they got it wrong AGAIN after having remade it so I just said screw it and moved on. Its unfortunate too because the manager here is clearly passionate about his restaurant but his staff are murdering him, wasting food and giving customers terrible service. As I was getting my last to-go order one of the wait staff clearly had pink eye as well and Im no doctor but it was pretty bad and Im pretty sure that stuff is super contagious and he was the one that brought out my food.

This was by far the worst experience Ive ever had at any restaurant. I was immediately seated and then proceeded to wait 10 minutes before anyone asked for my drink. I went ahead and ordered my entire order at the same time. After about 20 minutes, I finally got the attention of a waitress and asked if my queso would be coming out soon and she told me she wasnt my waitress and walked away. I wasted my entire lunch break waiting on queso dip and an entree, neither of which ever came out. When I told the waitress to cancel my order because my lunch break was almost up, she told me I needed to pay. For what? I received nothing.

Food was good, waitress was extremely rude. I waited 20 minutes after I had called in a pickup, then the waitress threatened to not let me leave with my food over 81 cents. My total was 20.81, I had a $20. I wasnt allowed to pay with my card. I literally had to ask a couple for the 81 cents because she basically told me I had no choice. Ridiculous. Will not be getting my service again.

Im sick and tired of consistently recieving terrible service here. Its not the waiters fault either its the management, or lack there of. If you want to eat a single taco here make sure you allot 2 hours to do so because thats how long it will take for you to get sat, get waited on, recieve silver wear, etc... Im never going back. Worst service in the state!

I have been eating here since 1996 when they were located on Farmington Road. LaBamba has only gotten better. The hospitality and atmosphere are excellent. Also, at least 2 times a year the outside and inside of the establishment gets a fresh make over. If you desire True authentic Mexican food come to LaBambas you will not be disappointed.
