NEVER ORDER ANY BOTTLE SERVICE AT THIS LOCATION IT WILL BE A HUGE MISTAKE. My friends and I are avid Solace attendees. It has been our go to spot for over a year now. Unfortunately our opinion and recommendation of the location has been completely tainted after our last experience. Solace is a reasonable place if you want to just sit at the bar but I would NEVER EVER recommend bothering to spend money on renting out their downstairs or ordering any drink packages. I repeat DO NOT ORDER ANY DRINK PACKAGES AT THIS LOCATION. It is not worth the time, money, or disrespect. They are unreasonably priced, the communication between the woman who handles the packages (The owners wife) and the workers is nonexistent, no one busses or keeps up with customers downstairs and they are not willing to work with you in the slightest. The owners wife has absolutely no concept of customer service or business handling skills. When my party arrived no one at the location was even aware of our reservation, the set-up took almost an hour, and then to make matters worse we were promised an extra liquor bottle as compensation and instead received a cheap champagne bottle. We even offered to pay additional money in order to exchange the bottle but the owners wife insisted that nothing was exchangeable or refundable and that we need to deal with what we got and be happy with that. It was such an unpleasant experience and the terrible customer service left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Our 25 guests who COULD have been new consistent customers are now 25 people who will not be recommending or doing business there again. I really hope management brushes up on Customer service 101 because when dealing with potential future business and LOYAL customers youd think would be accomodating of their needs. I repeat NEVER ORDER ANY BOTTLE SERVICE AT THIS LOCATION IT WILL BE A HUGE MISTAKE.

Ive been to this restaurant THREE times and I have to say it was the WORST when I went JUNE 25th. I had a table of two and the waitress that greeted me had a piss poor attitude which was around 7pm. We told her we didnt want to sit by the window but she proceeded to sit us there anyway. We didnt receive service until 20 minutes later. Our table had no utensils and there were nats and flies flying around everywhere. The waitress that greeted us (wearing see through black tights) said shed be right with us and never came back and instead was giggling with the other staff. The water we were served was unclean. The glasses were dirty. They have two ceiling fans and an air conditioner which makes the place extremely cold. The food was terrible. Do not get the original Mac n cheese as it will damage your stomach serverly. I had taken the food to go and reheated it at home. There was a stench coming from it and macaroni floating in oil from the cheese. It made me so nauseous and repulsed I remember going to the hospital to recieve antibiotics because I had gotten so sick. (Which is where I am writing this now) I would NOT recommend you go here. Our waiter WALKED OUT ON US to GO ON BREAK. Our table was NEVER CHECKED ON. The costumer service is absolutely PISS POOR and the staff is RUDE LAZY and clearly they DO NOT take their job SERIOUSLY.

Very disappointed. After being sick and unable to eat for days with the flu, my partner and I ordered delivery of grilled calamari, fish and wedges, and sauteed spinach. What we received over an hour after placing the order was about a dozen small deep fried calamari pieces (definitely not worth the $9), some cold fries instead of wedges to go with our over-battered fish, the spinach smelled rancid. After ringing up to complain, the manager was unhelpful and suggested we just order something else for free - we thought we would try the skirt steak. it was delivered at least in reasonable time, however the bed of roast potatoes seemed as though they had been cooked, cooked, and cooked again, and covered in cheap parmesan. The steak itself was tough, and not worth the $19 that it is listed as. Very disappointed, will not be returning to what used to be a regular place.

Im not going to rate this hole cause giving it one star is too much. Most of the good compliments come from the owners friends and locals who get freebees. The place is so unhealthy that the health dept. is closing out their food establishment! Listen if that is the only issue would probably survive the salmonella infested food. but thats not the real issue folks. As former employee, I can tell you that the place is a hangout for drug dealers. You may go there and survive a night of drinks but if you keep hanging there eventually youll be nothing but a "chalk mark" You have been warned. .There are other new and better places opening on W142nd Street and Broadway that will be operated by real business people who are professional restaurateurs. This is a push another establishment but a pay it forward advice to those tourists or newbies just moving into the area.

This establishment FAILED in every way. I was in a group of 5. We were seated upon arrival. All seats are classic bar stools. We had to ask for water refills. We placed our order and our food went to another table. A manager offered us a round of free drinks stating only one person was in the kitchen. Our 2nd order came after a 3rd request with one meal not being recorded as part of the meal and 2 incomplete meals. We asked to get the food to go. It was packed up, minus of 2 sides. items. The manager refused to comp anything and gave us the full bill in its entirety. He stated he offered drink after we ordered food so the full bill was due. We left the incomplete food orders and paid for the 3 drinks we ordered prior to the entire debacle. The music was good and drinks were mediocre. I would rather go to bed hungry than return to this place for a meal or drink.

Stopped by for a Sunday Funday Brunch in June with 5 people. Service was very timely and accommodating, Malena helped set up chairs/table and always kept our plates-and more importantly-our drinks moving. The food was DELISH!! I had the breakfast burger which was perfectly cooked to melt-in-your-mouth consistency. Friends meals were also on point. At the end of the meal the owner, Ben, came out to check and converse with us. He is a very friendly man with excellent customer service and business mentality. After speaking with Ben we ordered hookah for dessert. Overall: had a great time and will definitely be back.

First time here, I questioned the electronic hookahs. Second time here, Jon literally made the experience. If you are looking for a place for great service, tasty empanadas and excellent drinks come here. Jons service was one of a kind and really made the night. Hes an absolute ideal candidate for what a bartender should be, especially in area like Hamilton Heights. I am happy to come back on the days he is here. I know that I will be taken care of from the initial moment I sit down to my last drink. Thank you for the hospitality, I will be back on the days you work Jon!!

Excellent try but need to work harder. Solace is a welcome addition to the Hamilton heights neighborhood. Unfortunately the old saying, "Jack of all trades, master of none," applies. Theres hookah, beers on tap, food, a downstairs, and multiple flat screens. There is a lack of cohesion and the it factor is missing. The draft beer menu is written out by hand with partial information, and the server didnt know if sweet action was a sixpoint beer or not. The food is hit or miss. Try harder to narrow the focus, and make this a staple of west Harlem bar fare.
