Giving 2 stars (instead of 1) because the food is actually amazing. But thats about the only thing good...the prices are high for Mexican food ($80 for 4 adults, no appetizers, no alcohol or drinks, that doesnt include tip either), the dining area is very dark, the service is extremely slow and so is the kitchen. Our total time spent there for dinner was 1:40 min on a Sunday evening. We were sat right away, greeted with chips and salsa, then sat there for nearly 30 min before waving someone down just to order. It took another 30 min for our food to start coming out, another 10 min for our server to come back with the rest of our food and another 10 min to pay. We only spent 20 min eating out of the 100 min we were there! There are so many other Mexican restaurants in Denver to go to that are better than Tia Marias.

Wow came here for the good reviews and Were here now. Came here because our favorite was busy... the rice is very plain and the beans are flavorless.. the tacos carbon steak taste like cheap stir fry with way to much sauce ... my wifes taco fell apart as soon as she picked it up. Margarita taste weak and served in a mason jar. As im typing this review we have several ants crawling on the table. They were admirable about it and offered to comp our meal.... but we honestly ate hardly any of it because it was so bad. My wife barely touched her food. Save your money and go to to Guadalajara down 72nd. This place is aweful.

This is one of those "hidden gem" restaurants -- only the cool people know about it. Its in a part of town thats a bit rough around the edges, but you dont need to worry about your safety or your car, I dont think. It looks a little rough on the outside, too, and the inside isnt fancy. But is it all about how it looks? The food is amazing! Try to get there on a night when they do carnitas (careful, they run out later in the evening). Theyre juicy and cooked perfectly, all with a green chili that everyone loves. Couple it with a big margarita and friendly servers and youll have a great time.

My family and I have been coming here for a long time. Its my moms favorite or I should say was my moms favorite. We have never received service like this. It took 20 minutes to place our order. My dad had to go to the bar just to get water for our table. It took another 30 minutes to get our food. By far worst service we have ever received. Im giving it two stars only because the food was great. Service not so much. I think well look somewhere else next time we are craving Mexican food.

Absolutely awful food. I got two beef tacos and a been burrito. The beef was entirely unseasoned... I mean entirely. No salt. Nothing. It was also not drained and low quality so my taco shells were basically corn pulp. It was nasty. The bean burrito was better basically because I dont mind canned beans. I cant imagine why this place has a good rating. It makes no sense. Its full of middle aged, overweight non-Mexican couples if that explains anything.

Being from texas, im obligated to be proud of our mexican food. Which is why i tried this place when i came through. Its good! Friendly, fast service, larger than life portions and a familiar menu with some local tweaks to make it exciting. Salsa can be a bit mild but the flavor is there. Different enough to be interesting and it ended up being quite delicious. Salt to taste, as it seems they use little to none in their recipes. Id go back for sure.

We tried this place for the first time today after looking for a new Mexican restaurant in our area. We are definitely done searching. This place is delicious! We tried two different kinds of burritos and each was yummy! The chips and salsa was fresh, homemade and really good. The decor definitely does not impress but who cares as long as the food is great. I would recommend this place for sure. We will be back!

Completely ridiculous! Did you know that they charge a to go fee? Also, asked for a side of salsa and the tiniest amount was over $3!!! They seemed to have recently raised their prices and they were always higher priced for okay Mexican food. The service was weird... 3 people are taking care of you but none of them communicate with each other. We have officially decided not to go back.

Made reservation for party of 12 - they had no problem increasing to 20! Service was exceptional, food served hot and delicious. They were very willing to provide separate checks and assist with serving cake we provided. They did not rush our group as we continued to visit after the meal. Margaritas were exceptional!

The entry way was a little scary for a first appearance, but dont let it fool you! I got the chimichanga and a plain tamale, and this was, hands down, the best Mexican food I have eaten in my life. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some delicious Mexican food.

The food is pretty good. Rellanos and green chile is excellent. The ground beef seems not seasoned at all though and enchilada sauce isnt great. But overall, pretty tasty and friendly staff. Kinda neat once inside. Like others said, entrance is kinda creepy, but dont let it fool you.

Went there for lunch today, service was non-existent. No one refilled drinks, no one brought the check, no one did much of anything. Lunch for me, son and his father was $30, for 2 Al la carte items, hot dog with fries and 2 drinks. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

The 7 mares dish but thats my favorite. The other plates are good too. Chiles rellenos, smothered burrito. My wife Getz those plates and they are super good. Customer service is always good. I have being going there for more than 10 years and love it.

Every time Im in town i go there with family and friends, and Im Mexican. Yes, its got the american twist to many of their dishes, but the chicken tacos are great! And endless chips with salsa have led us to long pleasant after dinner conversations.

Their food is great and so is their customer service. Theyve been very supportive of the Adams County Sheriffs Office in our Tip-a-Cop events (a fundraiser for Special Olympics... And my brother is very active with Special Olympics!!)
