I started writing reviews because other reviewers helped me find places like this one. It was close to our hotel and we were in a mood for Italian cuisine for a late lunch. A small place with entrance few steps down from the road on 48th street will make you rethink if you are really going to a place with such great rating. The polite servers and the good ambiance will help you change your point of view until you wait for the food. We ordered Spaghetti with homemade meatballs. Our server graciously informed us that the main course portion is huge enough for 2 people. We were served with freshly baked garlic bread while waiting for our main course which kind of set our expectation for the food quality and taste. The main course was absolutely delicious and fresh. My wife has visited Italy and according to her the taste was as authentic as you can find in Italy. The bar, the music, the food and the happy hour (3pm to 5pm) made our experience a memorable one. I would definitely visit this place again if I’m ever nearby and try something new from the menu.

What an eccentric little hole in the (ground) wall! I love how homey and inviting this restaurant is. The employees seemed very hardworking and rushing around to serve customers! We got the garlic knots as an appetizer and they were divine! My family and I shared a pepperoni pizza, which was great! My sister got a pineapple and ham personal, which she loved as well. The crust was thin but not too crispy- literally just right. They serve it for you onto your plates, which is a great gesture (unless you are an avid reviewer like me- and you have to take photos before every meal!) It wasnt too greasy either! As the pastas passed our table coming out of the kitchen, they were mesmerizing! Although we were tourists, it seemed very popular with locals! It did get a little loud since the kitchen is not completely closed off, but I didnt mind at all! Very authentic as well! Bravo, patzeria! 10/10, would recommend to any and all Italian food lovers.

Visted here whilst in NYC. Food was pretty good, but not entirely traditional Italian. We went to pay our bill and were told that the amount we wanted to tip was not enough and we had to tip the "suggsted" amount. The word suggested means it is not mandatory. Quite disappointed that they were not happy with what we could afford and what we thought our experience was worth. Would not come back based on this. If they are expecting a minimum tip/gratuity amount they should have it incuded in the bill as standard and noted down on the menu so persons are aware. The only information regarding tips/gratiuty is that if you are a party of 6 or more then the mimimum gratuity will be expected/added to the bill. Does not say anything about a party of 2!!!

It started with a warm and friendly greeting and ended with a very happy group! The arugula salad was perfectly dressed and super fresh, but the shrimp and scallop garlic risotto that followed was amazing! My husband raved about his veal dish and our daughter said her chicken marsala was the best she ever had (it certainly looked like it) We were stuffed and couldnt finish the personal pizza that we ordered so we took it with us and ate it cold for lunch the next day. Guess what, we all loved it! The prices were very reasonable for the city but we wouldnt have complained because of the amazing deliciousness. By the way, this is the first time Ive ever taken the time to write a review. A real gem steps from the heart of Times Square!

We walked in to this cute little neighborhood place with no reservations on a early Sunday evening after spending the day in the city. We were greeted by a wonderful waiter and seated promptly. When our meals came out they far exceeded our expectations. I ordered the veal and peppers, delicious! Both my daughters ordered the ravioli which tasted just like my fathers homemade ravioli. My wife ordered the chicken parmesan and from the fact that there was nothing left on her plate Im assuming it was good. We finished off with dessert. We ordered the cannoli, tiramisu, and zeppoli. Oh my God, each one was better then the other. If you are in the Hells Kitchen neighbor and are looking for a wonderful cozy place, this is it.

I visited mid day for soup and pizza. Unfortunately, our waitress was ending her shift, in a hurry, and did not get my order correct. My wife and I both ordered soup. Only one bowl was served. I gave it to my wife. I mentioned to the manager that we ordered two. He went to the kitchen where I assumed he was placing the corrected order. No soup ever arrived. When the pizza was served, I mentioned to our new server that I was waiting for my soup, he stated only one order was placed. What happened to the managers order? At that point, I told him to forget about the soup. No apology or explanation. The manager never returned, but sat at a table eating. On a positive note, the pizza was very good.

Our go to neighborhood restaurant, great food, great prices and great people. Everyone is more than accommodating - ask for something off menu and its no problem. We love it so much we had our rehearsal dinner at Patz. Highly recommend the veal parm, lasagna, grilled shrimp, pizza, Bolognese, gnocchi (if it isnt on the menu, see if they have any in back), meatballs, the specials - everything we have had is really good and portions are large. You can find us here at least once a week, even just having a drink with John the bartender, and saying hi to Lee, Joe and Maria. Their motto: Enter as strangers, leave as friends - couldnt be more true!

Service was horrible! Service was painfully slow the entire time, but from the time we finished our desert it was 19 minutes before someone came by the table so we could ask for the check. Another few minutes before we got it and 10 more before they picked it up. 10 minutes more and no change. Hope the waiter appreciates the $2 he got from never bringing us our change. Probably a smart move, because after waiting that long he wasnt likely to get more. All in all, the process of paying lasted longer than the meal. That said, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice, but we will NEVER be going back there.
