Do NOT go here, especially if youre from out of state. I grew up on Long Island and have lived in Charleston, South Carolina for two years now. I came up for the weekend for a continuing education course to maintain my acupuncture license and met up with a few friends afterwards at this place. I handed my drivers license to the bouncer while chit chatting with my friend and watched him turn it over, attempt to peel the film layer off (the usual nonsense I go through every time I go to a bar on Long Island), and he then handed it to the other guy who forcefully SNAPPED IT IN HALF in the palm of his hand. After flipping out and snatching it out of his hand to prevent him from confiscating my only valid form of ID while Im in New York, they then told me to "have a good night". The manager wasnt even phased by this and defended them by saying I was yelling and causing a scene (rightfully so, I would say). To add to it, we walked down the block to The Nutty Irishman and as I started explaining to that bouncer what happened, he finished my sentence and said "let me guess, they snapped your ID in half??" UNREAL!!! If there was a ZERO star rating, thats what they really deserve.

I tried to eat dinner with my wife here. They fed my wife about 20-30 minutes before bringing me my meal. At one point I heard one member of the wait staff ask another why she alone had been brought food, to which the other person said simply "I dont know". I got the meatballs with pesto and ravioli. My food came cold. The ravioli probably would have been delicious if it wasnt cold to the touch. The pesto was mostly oil and separated, as if it had been made incorrectly and let stand for a long time (meaning thats not what pesto looks like or tastes like). The meatballs were warm, not hot, and Im actually not sure they were cooked thoroughly due to their color and texture. The two or three mouth fulls I ate tasted only of garlic. As for the environment, it was so loud that I couldnt hear the rest of our party trying to shout conversation over the mix of recorded and live music, which compelled all the other groups to attempt to speak against a constant roar. I feel terrible leaving such a negative review about a local business but, the experience was ridiculous and I left their restaurant after two hours having not eaten.

Im a regular at this location for both dinner/lunch and late nights on the weekends and thought it was a great place, but last weekend my friends & I tried to grab a few drinks and ran into a huge issue. I (a 24 year old) was told by Rocco (head security) I couldnt go in because it supposedly wasnt me in the ID picture. He then proceeds to ask if I had anything else proving it was me, to which I showed numerous credit cards and my old school ID. He then asks to go through my social media to "further prove" I am the person on the ID and after noting the same name/face on all my apps/credit cards/IDs he still wouldnt let me in. It was very invasive and embarrassing and the manager was no help either. Ive never run into this problem at other places, That Meetball Place just has no sense in respect for their customers. In regards to the owners comment: I had a police officer validate my ID and myself to the security/manager, but they "are allowed to choose who comes in or not." At that point its just discrimination.

I have visited this restaurant a few times and they do have good comfort food. The service in the past has always been ok. Last night 2/28/17 a friend and myself sat down at the bar that had six total people and there was two bartenders. We were right in front of them. They chatted with themselves and made drinks for the servers. They didnt greet us, give us water or offer a menu for over 10 minutes. What made us get up was the bartender started emptying glasses from the dishwasher and putting them away. We just looked at each other with a WTF is going on here????? If management is reading this it was around 7:00 p.m. Went down the street to another venue for a total opposite experience.

Wife and I figured to try out the meatball craze and was pleasantly surprised with That Meetball Place. While it may look as just a typical bar upon entry, the upstairs seating section provides a different environment where you can sit and have a conversation but not be detached from the ambiance. As for the food, the quality was great and the menu allows you to add your own touch to your meal. While we would have preferred the price to be a little cheaper in order for us to explore more of what they had to offer, we will absolutely return to That Meetball Place.

Ordered takeout and the host who took the order said the meatballs were the sizes of baseballs. They were clearly not. Knowing that i got 1 thing which consisted of 3 meatballs and pasta. The meatballs were the opposite of baseballs and normal sized and i asked for spicy asian sause which they did not put on and the pasta was bland. Portion was so small for 15 bucks had to order food again from someplace else. All my friends along with myself were hungry and disappointed after. Gave it 2 stars because the atmosphere is cool.

The meatballs are not dry, but thats their only good quality. I got the traditional meatballs w marinara sauce, and the meatballs very bland; they needed more herbs, more salt, some cheese, breadcrumbs, something, anything. And the marinara sauce could have been cooked down more, w either wine or mushrooms or herbs or something. My husband ordered a meatball sandwich, and it was even worse, almost tasted like health food, it was just cardboard. The tricks fries were okay. Its *very* loud too

Went to That Meetball Place for music on Main last week and we had a great time the food, drinks and atmosphere were great but what made it a remarkable experience was the people working there. Everyone was inviting and friendly. The best of them all was the bartender Nicole C. She was fantastic and took great care of us. We spent a few hours at her bar and never had an empty glass or a dirty plate in front of us. The place is great but I will definitely be back to see Nicole.

Ill try to be as objective as possible. The food sucks the staff sucks the atmosphere is generally pretty good. While finishing our meal the bouncer took our chairs away and made us stand....when we complained to our waitress she told us to deal with it and while we were closing our bill our waitress stood over our table and made sure we gave her a proper tip this place is a disaster.

Had dinner at farmingdale location last night...suspect MSG in food...had bad allergy reaction..it is the only food allergy I have...I have contacted the site asking if MSG is in the meatballs...waiting to hear. Otherwise had a good meal...little noisey for my taste but service was good, place big. Looks like a good time to be had with a younger crowd.
