This Hawaiian place has been here for as long as I can remember. They have the usual goods like Spam, Saimin Salad, Teri Chix. Portions are a good size here and prices are decent. The interior is one big dining area with some bar stool type seating towards the front. There are 2 bathrooms, one that is both sexes and one is for males only. They also have shave ice here, but Im loyal to my shave ice places! When in Cypress, I can only think of this place and The Loft for your Hawaiian needs. Both are about 3 stars for me. I like the teri chicken better here but I like the saimin better at The Loft. Theres a Pepsi fountain drink area. It does get packed during lunch time so make sure you come earlier or later. Good place for your Hawaiian cravings.

HEADS UP...Beware different owners over last 1 year. They finally changed the menu on Aprils 1st from over 20 items to 7. Even worse the quality/portions offered are poor. Prices have risen for less food quality/potions???? No more of what this place once was for 30 years. The meats are no longer good quality, very grisztley and teeeny portions just heavy carb sides. You cant even substitute without paying ridiculous add on fee they no longer offer salad/ cali rolls/ noodles that previous owners had as staple for sides that came. To bad and very sad. I suspect a matter of time before they go out of business.

Only 1 stars since they changed their menu. Very sad, they no longer have Chow mein Noddles or California rolls!!! Also, quality of food went way down. Beef and chicken plates were full of fat. Feel sorry for the employees their listening to all the customer complaints and not being able to do anything about it. People were walking out when they saw the changes! Bad call to change the menu. Been coming here for years but no more. :(. The new owner needs to start reading the reviews and change things back or this place is going to go out of business. Over 20 bad reviews on Yelp since April 1 menu change.

Tasty Hawaiian/Japanese cuisine. Great prices, especially for the teriyaki salmon plate! You order at the counter, and they give you a number and bring the food to you. They also have the best shave ice-a huge serving enough for 2 or more. You can add mixed steamed veggies to any plate for a small charge. Their salads are yummy too, and they make the best miso soup. Lots of families come here, due to the great food and low prices.

The food here is average as far as Hawaiian food goes. You can get a better chicken bowl at Flame Broiler and better Hawaiian at L&L or The Loft. The one thing they served that was great and I would specifically go there for were their California rolls..........and they recently decided to take that off the menu. I no longer have a reason to eat at Island Grill.

The new menu doesnt have the same items as the old menu had. They no longer have California Rolls or the chicken slaw. The new menu items do taste good, but not quite worth the raised prices. Its especially not worth it considering the new portion sizes.

The food is good however I lost my appetite when I was dining in with coworkers and saw cockroachs crawling on the wall. Ill never go back. If thats what you see while dining can you imagine whats in the kitchen and in the walls. Yuk!

The menu change really killed this place for me. They were so unique and the food was unlike any other. Now its like another flame broiler or any other chicken and rice place. At least bring the noodles back.

Had half dozen oysters, clams and mussels and lasagna. All of the food was excellent. the first beer I ordered was flat. That did not stop me from ordering a second one.

I threw up four hours later after having the Chili Cheese burger. Burger was all right, but the chili wasnt that good. Key point: I threw up.
