This place has so much opportunity, but it is severely lacking in control. I was here around 11 on Sunday May 7th, wasnt very busy maybe a handful of tables. There was one waitress. Which is fine if that is how they handle it there, however the longer we sat we were not greeted, nor told "help yourself to coffee" nor acknowledged to place our order. This was a solid 15 minute wait. Once we did order there was another wait of 38 minutes for a waffle platter and two pancake platters. We had Never been there before, nor told how things were done, or what to expect. I saw two, I believe venezuelan ladies running around, cleaning coffee bar, running food but NOT ONE TIME did they help, or great ANY tables or apologize that we had not been greeted or apologize the delay in our food. The older one appeared to be a manager or what I call a "boss" Not a leader at all. If I saw my store struggling I would immediately help the clients, or step up and come to a resolve. I had no problem with the coffee or tea being self serve BUT it should be listed somewhere, on the menu, or when you walk in. It cannot be an assumption that something like that would be free or for you to help yourself. When our food did arrive it was hot, thank god, but it was meh, and by this time I was so irritated that I had spent an hour at a slow brunch place. By the time we did get our food, the whole place was packed, still with one waitress. As an operations manager, production manager, and client relations to two of our locations, I can fully admit when my hands are tied, but I also will always be the first to step up. This place needs someone with assertiveness and can speak very fluent english for an establishment in the Northwest Part of Houston. My husband did not want me to leave a tip, but all that I actually saw working was the Waitress, it is NOT HER FAULT that her boss is putting her in that position of failure. I really hope this place can perform better, I would like to try it again under better circumstances.

So Im sitting here, its Sunday morning 10 am. My girlfriend and I have been here for about one hour now, we ordered our food; bowl of oatmeal and two waffles for each of us. 40 minutes later after we ordered our food and we were ready to leave, the food comes out finally. First of all, the eggs were ordered scrambled and looked pretty moist and runny so we sent them back. The turkey bacon looked somewhat fried, dark middle and pink outsides. And then the waffles, ohh man, the waffles. They not only looked raw and chewy but they were grey looking. I swear we are not making this up, and we should have taken pictures but we were so fed up by this point. I cut into it because I thought, well maybe it just looks bad, but no. These waffles were undercooked, raw, chewy, stretchy and bad. We sent them back and then we got our bowl of oatmeal. The oatmeal looks regular, side of walnuts with no blueberries or raisins(even though the menu said they came with the oatmeal). I had to add syrup and chocolate powder as well as cinnamon powder for it to taste like something. It looked like instant oatmeal possibly microwaved in water then milk was poured on top. I know the oatmeal is supposed to be healthy by itself but Ive had savory healthy oatmeal before. In the end, we ended up talking to I guess, the manager and she wanted to make up for it but we were done with this place. We only got charged for two coffees and the oatmeal. Oh by the way, this place is definitely "cozy", so cozy theres almost no room for the staff and you to walk around. They have coffee stations and water/tea stations that are self serve. Dont come here unless you want an "experience".

Ive been here twice, and both times I was not impressed. The first time was for breakfast and they were very busy. I went with my husband and in laws which Im close to, so the horrific wait didnt seem as bad as it couldve been. They brought our meals one at a time with long waits in between. By the time my mother in law received her food, my husband was done with his meal. My food was made completely wrong, but I said Id eat it, and didnt throw a fit. The waiter realized the mistake, apologized, and said hed take it off the bill, but he rang it up full price! After reminding him what he said, he took half off. Not at all what hed promised! The specialty drinks were good, but the regular coffee was never refilled after having only 1 cup each. My father in law went back a different time and later said after an hour of them promising to make more coffee, he went up to the counter and made it himself! Of course he was still charged $4 for his one cup of coffee. My second experience was better than my first, but for being one of two tables in the restaurant that night, the service was still slow and our food still came out one at a time! I doubt if anyone from my family will be going back.

Went for a late breakfast on a Sunday. No one greeted us so we just took a seat at an open table. Took forever to get waiter to come to table. Finally got our drink and food order in. Took forever to get a decaf coffee made. Food came out at a reasonable time and was pretty good except they had ran out of pork bacon and brought turkey bacon. Waiter played it off like I ordered turkey bacon then said they had ran out. Shortly after we arrived a table sat down next to us. They had not received their drinks even after we had already gotten our food. We had to say something to one of the waiters. Anything we asked for we had to wait and ask a second time. One of the waiters asked if my wife liked her decaf coffee and she said no she didnt (she didnt drink any of it) but no offer to take it off ticket. Food was good, service was absolutely terrible. We will not be returning for that alone. Turned a quiet Sunday into a stressful outing. Also tell your waiters to not touch their face constantly and coughing into their hand while they are taking your order. We had hoped for a better experience. Work out the service issues because the food is good.

Would have given 1 star but the ambiance saved it. The ambiance is really great, especially on a lovely fall day surrounded by lovely trees and plants. But...be aware that it is not east to spot off the main road, there is not a clear sign and the restaurant building is behind 2 other buildings. Maybe they had too many inexperienced staff members during the Sunday brunch time we went but service was very unorganized and slow. We walk in and ask if we sit anywhere, they said "yes". We said, "okay, we will sit on the patio." We wait for about 15 minutes with no service and go up to the counter and ask if we order at the counter or at the table. Response was "oh we will bring you a menu." 15 minutes later... "Here" and the waiter runs off. A waitress comes back 90 seconds later with menus "oh you have menus, are you ready to order?" "Sorry, no, but we would like drinks..." Gone before the end of the sentence. The rest of our service experience was incident after incident of confusion and dysfunction. I thought it was just us but several other people came to dine on the patio towards the end of our time and they were treated the same way.
