With the great options available locally for catering I was unsure when a family member chose Speak Easy for their summer event.... Wow! From the beginning was I surprised. They provided linens which were available early for pre set up and decorating! The Speak Easy staff arrived on site timely and set up quickly and the food looked fresh and amazing! Everyone could smell and anticipate the Italian cuisine. The pasta was perfect and the alfredo and marinara options provided for different tastes; of course, my favorite is their meat marinara!! The Speak Easy also had a liquor license so that took care of the bar. I recommend Speak Easy for catering Italian in summer, as well as, winter months because there was no last minute surprises or complications. They really came through and everyone agreed the food was delicious!

First off, the name drew me in. The decor and atmosphere definitely held true to the speakeasy name. Though I would loved to have heard live music on a Friday night, the music selection was tasteful and corresponded perfectly with the theme. Our server, Mahlon, was polite, poised and professional. Also during our visit the new manager, Larry, stopped by our table to introduce himself and asked how we were enjoying our experience. I find this personable interaction not only incredibly professional but also a rare yet considerate gesture. Our food was out to us in a timely manner and it was delicious. We will definitely be back for another visit when we are back in town.

The food way okay, we just wanted something small before our movie started, it was nothing special. We probably would have come back for a full meal sometime if we hadnt been robbed. The issue I had was that after tip our bill was $21, I remember because I joked with my girlfriend about it being the exact number as her age on the way out. Anyway, we checked the bank account a few days later and the transaction showed $24. I havent made a formal complaint because it was only $3, but be warned, they might try to change the number on your tip. We payed with the bartender because everyone else was busy, try to avoid doing that if you go there at all. We wont be going back.

I dont recommend eating here anymore. Used to be the best place to get lasagna and prime rib! However, $115 later and 4 disappoting meals, we wont be coming back. Atmosphere and staff are very warm and friendly. Biggest disappointment was the meals. Ordered a "Cats Meow" and had 4 bites. The dish was simply afwul; rubbery immitation crab, a bed of rice, all covered in a ball park-like nacho cheese consistency sauce. This all made the meal difficult to finish. Steaks were cooked to order, but came to the table lukewarm. Overall, food quality was highly dissatisfying for the cost. Try another steakhouse if youre looking for a nice meal out.

We held our grooms supper here. Communication was great; not even a blip on the radar in terms of pre-wedding stress getting the rehearsal supper organized. They were very accomodating with our large group (let us have the main floor instead of the usual banquet area) and never batted an eye despite the fact that we had a crazy amount of kids running around underfoot of their staff. The food was great, and the staff were very pleasant and timely. Because we included alcohol, we were expecting our bill to be nearly $900 more than it turned out to be! Our out of town guests loved the atmosphere.

Im sure back in the day it was outstanding. My relatives tell me so. Its an old favorite. But the service was terrible. Nicr enough, but lacking and super slow. However, they have THE best bar stools, Ive ever come across! The drinks were reasonably priced and bartender was ok. Our dinner in the dining room left a lot to be desired. All the salad was old and wilted. The Eggplant Parm chips were outstanding and the Alfredo seafood noodles were out of site! The rest was just alright.

So glad its back to the high standard we had come to expect! Wonderful! Food was so, so delicious... service was excellent... and you just cant beat the 1920s ambience and decor! This restaurant had been a favorite for years, but we stopped frequenting it after the quality had declined. Gave it a try again tonight after hearing its under new ownership, and we loved it! Give this restaurant a try... or another try if you had given up like we had!

This place needs a chef at the very least. Pretty sure the sauce I had on my chicken cordon bleu meal was just heated up from the can..quite bland and disgusting. Au gratin potatoes was the same bland and terrible. Food was atleast hot but a complete waste of both our time and money. Had been atleast 15 years since I had been there and apparently that was long enough for me to forget how bad it was, but that will NOT happen again.

Since we dont eat out much, this was going to be a treat for us. Atmosphere was ok, waitress took forever to seat us, and acted like we disturbed a conversation or something. Did like all the menu choices but prices are outrageously over the top for the amount of food. My wifes pasta was almost inedible because of so much spice. My chicken parm was ok, but not real hot. All in all, I would say Not Worth The Money.

I hadnt been to this restaurant in many years. Husband and I were looking for someplace away from the West Acres area to eat. I was sadly disappointed with our visit to the Speak Easy. The food was nothing special, and Im not sure it was worth the price. The restaruant was quiet (ie. practically empty) for a Saturday night. I understand why.

Asked about the birthday special, as my wifes birthday is Friday, but the only day wet can go out today. As theyre telling me that they cant make any exceptions at all, the server for the couple behind me tells me they can make an exception for them just this one time. Funny how that works huh. Guess were not coming here again.

The food is the best in town... Try the prime rib, its the best and its a huge portion. We love this place, my husband and I go eat there about once or twice a week. I hold my company parties there and we get great service... the owner and the employees are great people to visit with..

Great food! Everything always comes made exactly like we want, and the staff are very helpful, attentive, and courteous. The new bean and cream shop they added is pretty cool, and I love to stop and get something on my way out. This is absolutely my favorite place to eat in town!

Food was cold, two tables of guests left when one table of ladies had to turn up the TV so they could hear Americas Got Talent show. We talked to the waitress but she seemed to side with the ladies. Two tables with nine paying customers left because of this.

This place is one of my favorites! It has great happy hours (check ahead for the best ones), a large selection of wine, drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages, and the food is great. Even the kids meals are quality. Must see if youre visiting fargo/moorhead
