This is one of my go-to Indian restaurants certainly the best in Harlem the food is always fresh I noticed one of the other reviews and had the same experience the first time I asked for the food to be spicy it was not very spicy the second time I reminded them of this and said I really want an It,spicy and it was fantastic just the right hot and each time I go they remember me and Cook it the same way. My wife orders the Chicken Tikka Masala and always loves it. I tend to stick with the lamb Currys my favorite is the Lamb Shashlik. The naan bread is always delicious slightly crispy and tender inside and for dessert I often get the Rasmalai. The prices are not cheap but the portions are large the food is fresh it is very difficult to find inexpensive quality food in New York City but it is certainly not pricey. My favorite waiter is Sumon not sure if Im spelling it right wonderful guy always has a smile on his face.

Hello im here not to comment about there meals, im here to tell you how i feel working with Maharaja Palace, i started at Maharaja Palace 4 weeks before my marriage expecting to work for the weeks and get more money for my marriage, i got my first pay the second week at work which is $400 for 60hrs per week as dishwasher stock boy and porter, so i worked for 2weeks and 3days extra before Maharaja at Amsterdam was closed and the boss promise to pay me the rest of my money before my marriage, surprise till now i never get my money, its hard for me to feed my self now or my wife and have been putting down jobs applications to many restaurants to work as dishwasher i never get one. Please ladies and gentlemen help me add more comment to get my money ($1000) its one week three days now please help me.

Ordered shrimp Biryani and carrot halwa. Biryani was good but the carrot halwa was made WAY TOO SWEET. I asked them if they can add some cream or milk to adjust the taste, the answer was.. sorry it wa made that way we cannot do anything more!!! Seriously, I was paying for it.. it was Not free.. we wanted to order mango lassi.. but because we wanted avoid lactose asked if he can do it without milk, the answer was , "sorry, we have have it ready, cannot make anything like it!!". The restaurant was not even busy, I was the only customer sitting there with my friends.

We found a sharp, 1 cm long, cone-shaped piece of plastic in the palak paneer. Called the restaurant and texted them an image. The manager we spoke to told me that nothing like that is in their facilities, accusing me of making it up so I could have a refund. He also told me plastic has to be black or white, and this particular piece had a green tint (It was in the palak paneer). He was extremely rude. Never ordering from here again.

Ok, so there are a LOT of highly regarded restaurants in this neighborhood. My wife and I were walking around one night and were getting tired of hearing about long waits at some of the other places we had picked out. We gave up and went to Maharaja, thinking that it was gonna be so-so Indian food. It REALLY surprised us. Super tasty Naan and Chicken Tikka Masala and LOVED the samosas!

Delicious food! Definitely my go-to Indian place on the UWS. I love their saag gohst, the mulligatawny lentil soup is tasty especially in winter, and just tried the paratha bread tonight and it was very good. Always friendly staff - Ive seen people write reviews that delivery takes a long time but Ive never waiter more than 30-40 minutes, even when ordering during dinnertime.

My son and I love this place. Lamb dishes are delicious. Some of the best saag Ive ever had. And the service is friendly. But bring your own beer our wine, at least for now.
