If you visit this retaurant , the waitress watch you and check how much you pay for the tip and she will ask for more in rude manner. If you can enjoy Korean food, I will recommend other places, It is easy to find a Korean food restaurane with more delicious, economical food and good service. read other reveiws about this restaurant.

It sucks. I literally want to make a poster saying DO NOT GO. Im honestly making this post to let people know and to prevent you from making the same mistake as we did. The service is horrible..prices are too high. Barely any customers and their attitudes are horrific. Their food is okay. But their service is unspeakably bad..and they REQUIRE tip. The lady literally came upto us three times to get the amount she wanted. We are high school students..they dont even deserve one star.

The good folks over at Shilla really want you to feel welcomed when you enter their zone. In the 20 seconds it took the hostess to show us to our lunchtime seats, we were "welcomed" by four different people. The greetings set the tone for what was to be a nice meal. Apparently both my lunchtime companion and I were lacking originality and we both put in for a bul go gi box. At first, it seemed like it might be a bit pricey ($11? give or take), but, even for our little lunch feast, Shilla pulled out all the ban chan...something like nine little dishes of it: marinated tofu, kimchee, noodles, many random pickled things, etc.. all quite tasty and a starter. Our boxes came out and I was pleasantly surprised to see a massive pile of deliciously marinated beef. To compliment the beef, a portion of rice, an oyster on a half shell, a salad, a rice noodle dish and a bowl of porridge. More food than either of us could pack away, and, more importantly, everything was fresh and served very quickly. My only complaint is directed towards a heavy set bald man who arrived ten minutes into our meal. He sat behind us, and, in a fashion that presumes his dining partner was completely deaf, sang his own praises, carefully articulating all of the qualities which makes him among the most brilliant at his firm. In the most childish manner possible, I took to emulating his behaviors in an attempt to bring about some level of cognizance. Unfortunately, all attempts failed. Please understand, I dont hold the fine staff at Shilla responsible for this particular mans behavior, however, I would probably give an even more glowing review for this establishment if one of the wait staff would have belted this guy in the head with one of those big stone pots.

In a street full chock full of Korea restaurant I tend to stick with the ones I know. Once in a while we branch out to try a new place. Will it be a hit or a miss? I found the food here to be pretty solid Korean fare, and service was attentive and friendly. As with most Korean restaurants the prices are on the higher end of some other places. But in the end it all comes out to about the same. We decided to try some new dishes that looked interesting on the menu ... Hae Mool Jjim(spicy seafood w/ bean sprouts & scallions), Spicy Honguh Tang(spicy skate fish casserole w/ vegetables), Al Jjigae(hot & spicy fish roe casserole). We probably went a bit overboard on the casserole part but it was a cold day! Everything said spicy and looked intimidating but in reality it wasnt really that spicy unless all you ate was bland food...then yes it probably will be. I always order the Al Jjigae if it is on the menu and here I was very good ... it had plenty of fish roe, tofu and mixed seafood. The skate casserole was equally as good with basically the same but with the fish instead. Overall, we had a good experience here. Good service that didnt feel rushed like many other Korean establishments where it is like wham, bam thank you Mam and solid Korean food is a plus in my book. I can add this to the list of choices when we have a hankering for Korean food.

I absolutely love this restaurant. It has such a nice ambience to start with. We went out on a week night and the wait wasnt too long about 10 minute wait without a reservation. The people are incredibly friendly but given that there are no specified servers for your table you can get different servers and I had to ask twice for my drink before I got it. But thats ok. There are many other restaurants that have less than better service. The service here is good and they took our order pretty quick. We loved the side dishes and they even gave us more when we ran out. The ddukbokki was to die for. It was the first time I had tried ddukbokki so I had nothing to compare it to, but the bar was set pretty high. It was super spicy but I loved it. The bibimbap I ordered was also good, but what I really loved was the marinated chicken. The flavor was exquisite. Overall one of the best Korean restaurants Ive been to. Probably the only thing I disliked was the soju cocktail. I ordered the Mango Soju cocktail and it was very simple but besides that I loved everything from the atmosphere to the food. I would definitely recommend it. ience

Well, what can I say? Our dinner there was a complete nightmare! We had been to Korea and know our soulongtang. Shilla definitely does not know how to make that soup. It just tasted like luke warm tab water. Nothing more. It was inedible!!! When we wanted to return this dish (since we did not want to pay 10$ in vain), the head waiter was just rude. However, he gave us an other dish, which was quiet ok (Bibimbap). This is what this socalled restaurant gets the one star for. When we wanted to leave, we decided not to tip, because the staff was so rude. But before we could leave the restaurant, a waiter yelled at us through the entire restaurant and pointed out that we did not tip them. When we said that we did not want to give them tip, because they were rude, they suddenly pretended not to understand English. What a bummer! We ended up paying 5$ tip and then they let us go. We felt horrible the entire evening after because of being treated like horrible people in there. If you want your day ruined, go to Shilla (Probably the new "Amys Baking Company")
