Ive had worse slices that made it on lists, as the best pizza in new york city, so why shouldnt this place be on a list?? And Im talking about better (overall) than prince street pizza, NY pizza supreme, Joes pizza, etc. This is how I ended up here: The grand opening of deninos pizzeria & Tavern was today, so I decided to stop by and grab a garbage slice, when I arrived the hostes informed me, that this location cant serve slices for now, because of some community board issues, obviously I was really disappointed, but that didnt cool down my crave for pizza... After doing some research, the only pizzerias that were still open were the usual spots, but I was looking for something different, so I broadened my search to all over the city, and then this place popped up, a quaint little joint, not far from tottos ramen, so I was like lets go! I got there past midnight, and most of the slices that I wanted to try were gone by then (a bit disappointing), so I had to settle for a spicy meat slice, the guy behind the counter told me that its the best option for now. The pizza itself was solid, I liked the crust - its Roman style long bread - the quality of the toppings, especially the spicy meat! It was a bit addictive to be honest... For now, based on one slice, late night experience, the only thing I can say: is that its better then a lot of top 10 pizzerias in new York... But I hope that next time, after trying some slices with unconventional toppings, Ill be able rank this joint more accurately...

Ohhh yeaaah! Thanks to the YELP app, I discovered Merilu which delivered to the Paramount Hotel. I had the New York pie which was so good!! And the smaller size was plenty of food for two! I ordered it with more sauce than cheese which is how I always order my pies, but every place does it a little differently. While I wouldve liked more sauce, I would absolutely order again. I actually wouldve gone to the restaurant and tried to, but it was a bit far. If you do order it to your hotel, please know youre gonna have to go downstairs and meet the delivery person. They carry Coke products in cans.

Better-than-average pizza. Nicer-than-average staff. Greater-than-average happiness. The mostly thirtyish crowd was universally happy. My teenaged son was pleased. And I was old enough to realize that I was getting some of the best pizza of my lifetime. As others have commented, its more thin-crust true Southern Italian, not a standard "New York Pizza," but one can prepare pizza no better. I recommend ordering a complete pie if you have enough friends, and eating it right there, fresh from the oven. The pizzas first five minutes out of he oven are amazing.

As a true native OG I must say this is one of the the absolute BEST pizza joints in the whole city. Its not your typical mass produced run-of-the-mill pizza & like nothing Ive ever had. What makes it so unbelievably delicious are the fresh ingredients which are hand crafted into unique & authentic Italian variations. Im totally hooked on the margarita pizza and love changing it up with many of the rest. Its family run with pride, care & friendly service which is clearly the secret sauce. Definitely worth trying but be warned, you might get addicted :)

We arrived there hungry after a long delayed flight and the lady there was closing the place. She was nice enough to let us in and heated up the last 6 slides of pizza remaining and let us eat inside. The pizza was delicious and to top that off she didnt charge us for the food or drinks (since she was already closing down the place and the last few slices would have been wasted anyway) . We tipped her well! Well never forget the great customer service and good tasting pizza there. Would definitely go again!

While on vacation visiting NYC for the first time, we ate here our first night due to close proximity to our hotel on 57th Ave and of course ratings. We were not disappointed at all. First of all they asked where we were from we said California. We were immediately told welcome to New York. So a very friendly staff and the best Pizza Ive ever tasted

Recently discovered new pizza place around the corner from our apt. Family run, really great people. Maggie and Lou are very helpful and makes great pies. We recently hosted a bday party on our roof and Maggie came to help set up the pies on long board which I borrowed so as not to serve long pizza in sq pizza box. The pizzas were great!

Very flavorful thin crust pizza with delicious homemade crust. Small and cosy place; there are a few seats and the decor shows the owners really care about their restaurant. Kitchen is clean and the owners are doing the cooking. They serve pasta and salads too.

A must must must try ( yes, three " must "). This place is no joke. It reconfigures your palates or i told the staff- you are messing with my palates"This is how pizza and food should taste; Ingredients should be fresh. Thank you for a great experience!

Stopped in because of the other reviews. Best pizza I ate during my whole trip to New York. The crust is perfect and the toppings fresh and delicious. Dont get the $1 pizza next door. Stop in here. You wont be disappointed.

Sopresatta slice, friggin awesome - *this* is what NYC pizza is about. Crisp, perfect crust, just enough sauce, buttery mozzarella, served out of a closet-sized slot on 9th. Joe Bob sez check it out.

My favorite pizza in the city is here in this little pizza shop. The pizza is thin and delicious. Eat in or take out (its small though) but youll get some of the best NYC pizza here.

Pizza was decent, but not great. Definitely not worth the 6x price increase compared to the 99 cent pizza two doors down. I ate both on the same day just to compare.

2 hours and 30 minutes to get a delivery from 10 blocks away. Delivery guy was not able to find the address. We did not get the pizzas. Dont order from this place.

I make it a point to sample the local cuisine in NYC when Im visiting. The authenic NY style pizza pie was well worth my seven block trek in the drizzling rain.

Very competent slices with a crispy crust. Far better than the 99c place nearby, but Im not sure its five times better. It is five times more expensive though
