Expanded our horizon to see if LaBaquette truly lived to its 4+ star reviews and was disappointed, let me explain. As you first walk in the counter server did not deliver a warm greeting more of a hast and unenthused expression (not even a smile). The menu seemed promising for what you pay and happened to fall in during happy hour for half off coffee items that tasted a week old. The French dip and black bean soup were delivered fast with little wait. While consuming the light lunch, the bread fell apart and seemed stale, French dip was bland and the soup was salty and nothing but black beans with a little onion garnish. Every item seemed to come out of a can or microwaved nothing tasted fresh or cooked.

Havent been to this one in a while...but I got a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and some fruit. Let me start off with the chicken, it was grey! Like if it was very old, the cantaloupe was like a sponge and the grapes seemed old was well. I didnt notice the chicken till i was almost half way through my lunch. I lost my appetite as soon as I noticed it. I am burping up what tastes fishy and nasty, and my stomach is upset. Never going there again. Especially because I feel as I am going to be sick.

This is my favorite go-to, long-standing restaurant in the Springs...I salivate over their soups and love everything Ive had--and Ive tried just about everything--from salads to sandwiches, croissants to desserts and oh--great quality coffees, as well! Everything is incredibly fresh and tasty. My mom took me there as a kid and I frequent the place on a very regular basis as an adult--thanks, Mom! (Id give La Baguette even more stars if I could.) Mmm...I think Ill go there for lunch today.

UPDATE: Just wanted to thank La Baguette downtown for being consistently consistent! When I go in there, its no fuss, no muss, always good, no complaints from me! Customer service is always on point! Happy to spend my money here ;) Been there a couple of times. Had the Turtle Pecan Latte, excellent! Also recently made a second trip and tried the Symphony. AMAZING!!! Add it to your Food Bucket List as a MUST TRY! I also had the Herbal Rasberry Tea

One of my favorite Colorado Springs bistro/bakeries. House made soups, salads, dressings, pastries, breads. My favorites are the raisin pecan bread, mushroom soup, symphony (chocolate mousse cake), and the chocolate truffles. Croissant sandwich & daily soup special. Mmmm Great service. Half block from low cost covered parking. Next door to Kimballs Peak Three Theater for Indy and foreign films. Perfect daytime date or time with friends.

What can I say? It was just an awful experience. The food took for ever and was cold. The server Patrick who was French treated us as second class customers not knowing anything about us. For our first trip in Colorado what a bad choice we made to eat there We will be back to Colorado Springs but this will never happen again there are so many others choices. Live and learn

Fresh brewed French coffee. Need I say more? Staff is always cheerful and friendly - probably cause they are all hopped up on espressos! We always get the baked there, ham and swiss cheese croissant with fruit. 5 cups of coffee later and 8 dollars short (very reasonably priced) we happily take our 15 minute walk home to start the day.

Week day, or weekend you should go here. The food and coffe (just plain ol coffee is excellent) something you will remember. They do run low on fresh baked goods in the afternoon (since they only bake once a day) so morning / mid day if thats what your after. Get some! Staff is super friendly. Love this place!

French onion soup was amazing, the vinaigrette salad was better than the honey mustard one. Great value for fondue (my wife wanted fondue and I really wanted to avoid the Money Pot). Dark chocolate covered cherries for desert hit the spot without us overdoing it and feeling guilty.

Best quiche ever! We take quiche seriously, we order it often and make it frequently at home. Light and fluffy, great crust, good flavor (seasoned perfectly). Very nice staff. Good muffin and croissant as well. We are looking forward to going back there soon.

Fabulous bakery with prompt friendly service. While I only had a muffin for breakfast, they also have salads and sandwiches on their lunch menu. The classical music in the background made for a peaceful place to gather my thoughts before work.

Loved this place right next to our hotel. We had breakfast here every morning of our trip. Fresh and wonderful pastries paired with great coffee and lattes. Sadly, we never tried breakfast. We will definitely visit on all future trips.

BEST French dip roast beef sandwich ever!! Order it hot, and with smoked Gouda cheese. Its outstanding. It comes with the best Au Jus, which is actually the broth from their French onion soup--which is also incredible. You must go!

The Ruben sandwich I had was so good and big. It was loaded and the meat was tender. Loved the decor. My husband had the French onion soup and it was very tasty. This was my first time there and I loved my experience.

Still my favorite restaurant for lunch! Love their gazpacho, and their mustard. I do, however, miss the tarragon dressing they previously had on their maison salad.
