This coffee shop is a rare gem, but much like the real Hagia Sophia, isnt quite what it used to be. As much as I loved this coffee shop, I cant leave a higher review than 3 stars because quality of service has declined. I hope management will see this review and start turning the place around. The place is run by a local Orthodox church, so they mostly employ young members of their church. They either cant or wont discipline/fire these employees, so some of them do sloppy work. Its obvious before you even walk in the door--the garden is severely neglected. If you have patience with the staff, though, you will find Agia is otherwise still a great place. I usually order a pot of tea when Im there, and the turkey panini is among the best sandwiches Ive ever had. The second floor is the perfect place to study (the stairs are hard to find, so just ask someone). The books on the shelves are mostly Orthodox, but plenty of them have appeal to non-Orthodox people (like me), and some of the books are quite rare.

@agia_sophia hasnt Tweeted since 2013. Since 2007, Agia Sophia has been around. But the building was Old Colorado Citys first City Hall in 1889. 1 poor barista was working a quasi rush pounding out food, coffee, chai and tea. I was in no rush. I shared ancient wisdom with the chatty ladies in the corner. The chatty ladies moved upstairs. I followed to take pictures. Pictures of the upstairs, not the chatty ladies. The Megalos 3 shot Americano was hot and stout and delicious. The Italian Pizza Panini minus tomato took a while to cook but was decent. It was well spiced and heavy on the onions. It was presented nicely with kettle cooked ridged sea salt chips. They were out of roasted red pepper hummus. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The barista was youthful and worked very hard. He was excellent with a grand work ethic. The building history added to the ambience. I really give this place kudos. Well done. Great vibes. I will return. Go there. Youll be glad you did.

Im traveling the US and have visited dozens of coffee shops. This is by far my favorite one. It takes one thing to ruin an experience and Google can be hit or miss when trying to find a place to hang out. The building is gorgeous. The baristas were nice and helpful. I had a tea, which came in my own beautiful teapot. My friend had some delicious coffee. We had lunch and it was well-priced, filling, and great-tasting. Another friend got a french press and they gave her a timer to ensure perfect taste. It is a religious-run place, but that adds much beauty. It is a quiet location and the religious books are wonderful classics. It has a good amount of seating, with separate rooms, which is great if you want some privacy. Also, gorgeous view of the Rockies. Definitely check this place out.

Ive been going here for a couple years now. Staff is almost always friendly & polite. They have creamy smoothies which are to DIE for. Their food is also fresh, healthy, and recently priced. I should mention Im picky on chai since Ive had the authentic stuff (where you boil the ginger root and all that jazz) and usually the Americanized powdered form of chai pales in comparison, but I can honestly say that Agia has some of the best chai Ive ever had. Sometimes it gets crowded, or one person sits at a table meant for 4 people, but otherwise the environment is very relaxing. Their upstairs is like a little library with couches and old lamps and wobbly tables and bookshelves. I love supporting local businesses, and I would definitely recommend supporting this one.

Things I like: -The food here is very affordable and quite tasty. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. -The space is excellent. There is much room to sit and read, talk, or peruse the connected boutique. -The staff is particularly friendly and welcoming. -Great location and historic building. Things I dont like: -The coffee quality is fairly low. Its more of an afterthought, which isnt very competitive in the growing coffee market in town. Overall, this is a great space to meet someone or just hang out, but I can only recommend the coffee to someone who is looking for a caffeine fix or generally doesnt worry about "craft" coffee.

Very cool, laid-back, antique atmosphere full of orthodox iconography, paintings and texts. The house is a unique Victorian-style brick structure, with the food and coffee served downstairs and the upstairs serving as a quiet, charming study room loaded with religious texts, commentaries and some extraneous philosophy books for customers to browse. The Chai Latte and Americano brews I tried were both exceptional, and the vegan wrap and chips were delicious as well. Regardless of how religious you are, this place is both charming and delightful.

I am guessing I didnt see the whole shop because the photos didnt match up the what I saw. The food was fresh and good with a wide selection of sandwiches and soups. I sandwich and ice tea was about $10. Service was fast. The subtle religious undertones around the place were a little much for me. I came to eat, not pray. Overall, nice cozy little shop but I must have missed a big section of the store. Otherwise, the Google photos are just stock.

This is probably the hippest coffeehouse in the Springs. It is run by the Eastern Orthodox Church, and that is the theme of the place, but if you are not religious dont let that stop you! The coffee is always top notch, there are lots of quiet corners to read and relax, meeting rooms downstairs and great conversations abound! I love sitting on the patio in the evening, watching life happen on Colorado Ave.

I really, really enjoy the quiet, reflective study space upstairs. This place is great to come and study or work upstairs WHEN IT IS QUIET. However, I really wish everybody realized that the upstairs is more geared towards quiet study than coming to have a long, loud conversation. It really can be disruptive for those who come and use the space for the quiet.

This is my favorite chill spot. They really go out of there way to make everyone comfortable. Im not sure what that other guy was complaining about, but the WiFi is always on point for me when I go here. WiFi can be very tricky sometimes, especially if a lot of people are on it and one or two of them are running a heavy weighted program that clogs the network.

If youre looking for atmosphere, this place has the feel of an old tiny library upstairs. Avoid the espresso... Not the highest quality experience there, and ask for a larger size cup if you add cream. Super spilly cups. They refrigerate their coffee, if this matters to you. Pastries are in plastic, did not seem fresh. Maybe order from the menu.

The food is great and the drinks are tasty. The service is wonderful and the people who work there are super nice. Its always quiet so its a great place to just relax and read or just sit and sip coffee and forget about any stresses in life. I love coming here to do just that. I recommend this place for anyone who loves a relaxing atmosphere.

This coffee house has a wonderful atmosphere, they offer excellent coffee and tea menus, fruit smoothies, and a delightfully Mediterranean inspired menu! Interesting fact I found out about the building: it is an old city council building. I love old historic buildings! You should check it out for yourself :) Remember, they have an upstairs too!
